NBA All-Star D’Angelo Russell needed a brand identity to solidify his sneaker partnership with Li-Ning. I was tasked with designing a mark that represented D’Angelo Russell’s nickname ‘DLo‘ which is short for “D-Loading”. The final logo is a ‘D’ quite literally loading – with the solid part of the logo creating an L while the loading streaks make an ‘O’.
The biggest challenge was creating a cohesive design worth of Russell, who was crowned Most Stylish NBA Player by GQ in 2019.
